 Classes are one hour:
- The first 30 minutes are for chess instruction:
- Instruction is organized.
- Specific topics and strategies are covered.
- The last 30 minutes the students play chess games:

The first
chess game is a tournament game – students are awarded points towards
trophies and prizes based on the results of the game.

After the
tournament game students can play fun games until class is over.
All materials are
provided.
All levels of chess
skill are accepted. The class is divided into groups (such as Standard,
Intermediate, and Advanced) based on age and ability.
We maintain an
average Student-Teacher ratio of 12 to 1. Program

Know Chess! is an
after-school program. All chess classes are held after school.
Chess classes are held
one day every week (with the exception of school holidays, and "min"
days).
We
also offer classes through the
City of Fremont Recreation Department.

carefully screened and background checked.
Emphasis is placed on
the instructor’s ability to work well with children.
We
pride ourselves on building a team of leaders who enjoy working with
children, as well as, a love for the game of chess. Learn

Fees
The average cost to the
parent(s) is $12 for each chess class, payable per semester and
scholarships are readily available for those with a financial need...
Our program is aligned
with the school year calendar. We divide the school year into two
semesters. For example: a 34-week school year is divided into two
17-week Know Chess! semesters, for a cost of $204 per semester.

We at Know Chess! enjoy and appreciate the
opportunity to provide chess instruction to our students. Please be aware that
we are not a state licensed day care provider.
